Thumbs Up viable alternative

Hi Ben.

Linux is a great operating system. If you're tired of uncle Bill's monopoly and the cost for software to use his operating system, I'm sure many here will back me up and say it's a very viable alternative to widowz.

You should be able to download the cd's needed for Linux by doing a search or going. You can also go here RedHat or Fedora Core Project (FC3 newest version), read up on what your hardware requirements are, and then download the files you need.

Happy hunting

Knoppix...

Before you take the big leap the linux, try a cd-bootable version. http://www.knoppix.com/ Download this, burn it to an iso and they reboot the compter with this in the cd-rom. It runs entirely off the cd-rom and RAM. if you like it, then you should try to install a full linux.
