Linux Asus EeePC problems
Don't know my way round Linux at all, which is why I can't solve the following on my Asus EeePC 901:
1) When I start the email programme a feedback form for Netscape Communicator opens, and can't be closed - 'cancel' and 'back' are greyed out, the top-RH-corner x button doesn't do anything either; the only buttons which work are 'Next' which I don't want to do, and 'Help' which doesn't help. I don't want this at all - I didn't even know it had Netscape - and would happily uninstall it, if I could work out how 2) I'm still trying to find a free firewall for its Xandros version of Linux: but some things I read suggest it's got one already, you just have to enable it - if so, anyone know where it is? I've nosed round the AV menus, but can't see anything. 3) I'm wondering if the ASUS antivirus, which seems pretty minimal, includes anti-spyware, but can't find out I'm running it on my home wireless network, which includes three PCs as well, but I also need to take it out and about if I could get it all sorted out and safe! Many thanks |

Re: Linux Asus EeePC problems
The only time you might be concerned about anti-virus is when you're on your home network, since the ASUS PC might send something along to the Windows PC's. Chances of picking up a virus in Xandros are minimal at best.
