Got nvidia package, now PCLOS wont start...

Just downloaded a package for my Nvidia card to work in PCLOS, when I did the x restart, it crashed on the DOS screen. So I resarted it manually and now it wont let me log into any of the modes (safe, normal etc...).
I can put my username in, but it wont let me enter numbers for my password. Neither will it help me use the "root" option. No login GUI appears, only the black DOS login.
Please help!!

And now Im back at square one. I dont know whether I had to, but I re-installed PCLOS. Im now sat in VGA mode again, because I cant get the driver for my GPU to work. Anyone give me a clue how to install this driver?

Nevermind, ended up formatting the drive and installing Ubuntu X64 instead. Works a million times better and suits my CPU better too. Thanks to all readers.
