OK, I was told I needed to - "blacklist the prism2_pci module in Menu > System > BootManager configure bootup". I then need to install another driver.
This is a tad Greek to me so, could anyone tell me or link me to a site the explain "blacklisting"? Besides I'm using a live Cd how are those changes saved or still on my system when I use a live Cd? All always thank you.My regards, tdb P.S. Oh, I'm using Puppy 4.0. I'm trying to connect to the net via D-Link DWL-520 rev.E. Last edited by tdb; 07-31-2008 at 04:41 PM. |

Re: How To Blacklist Drives
Are those instructions specifically for Puppy Linux? Those are graphical instructions, so those of us running different graphical setups might not have a menu setup like that.
If you want to do the command line way of blacklisting a kernel module (make it so it can't be loaded - until you unblacklist it) you open /etc/modules.d/blacklist with your favorite text editor (vim is fantastic, nano is fairly easy, many others exist). Just add a new line with: prism2_pci and that module shouldn't be able to be loaded again (until you've removed that entry from that file). Heh, I think I might have a similar PCMCIA version of your card...
