Can't install Flash on Ubuntu...
Hi all... I've been trying for some time now to get Flash installed on my x64 Ubuntu 8.4... I've read various work arounds, nut none that work for me. I've also been having the exact same problem with the x86 version on a friends PC... Any help?

Re: Can't install Flash on Ubuntu...
I am guessing that you are trying to install this for your web browser. I would recommend that you go to the synaptic package Manager and the sear for flash. When you get the results look for flashplugin-nonfree. This will install the adobe flash program for you.
Cheers!

Re: Can't install Flash on Ubuntu...
Yep... been there, done that, and all that jazz...
I've also tried downloading the install packets from adobe, the .rpm's, .tar.gz's and the other one whatever that was called... all to no avail :( And yep, when I was trying it through konsole/terminal i was doing it with sudo bash. I know a lot of people hava had issues with the x64 version, but I cannot figure out why the heck I can't get it to work on my mates x86????????? |

Re: Can't install Flash on Ubuntu...
Check out 64Bit flash. You will have to scoll about 3/4 of the way down the page to find what you need but it is all there.
Cheers!

Re: Can't install Flash on Ubuntu...
OK nevermind... I tried the synaptic packet manager for the fifth/sixth time, and it worked... didn't do anything different as far as I'm aware, but it's working fine now...???
