Sound stuck at 100% volume
I recently installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my laptop, and have had trouble being able to reduce the volume from 100%. Using the volume controls, the slider instantly snaps back to full if reduced.

Re: Sound stuck at 100% volume
You can always try to download the HD drivers from Reltek. You will have to convert the files from the .tar.gz file to a .deb file fro Ubuntu.
I am not sure how confident you are yet with command line but there are a couple of way to convert them. The first it to download a program called alien. To do this just type: Code:
sudo apt-get install alien Then you can use it by typeing: Code:
sudo alien file.tar.gz Code:
./configure make make install I hope that I haven't confused you too much and have helped you with your sound. Cheers!

Re: Sound stuck at 100% volume
The file I've recieved is a LinuxPkg_5.05.tar.bz2 file. Using the alien command tells me it cannot find the file. Have not tried the other method, not proficient enough in command line to understand it.
