Getting Damn Small Linux to boot from a flash drive
This is possible, yes?
I have DSL downloaded, but I haven't a clue how to put it on a flash drive. Could someone walk me through it? And if you must direct me to a page, could you instead copy and paste the main points? It makes things so much easier. Thanks. |

Re: Getting Damn Small Linux to boot from a flash drive
I am using this guide: pendrivelinux.com/2007/01/02/all-in-one-usb-dsl/ and I ran into a problem when I had to extract files to the syslinux directory. I don't what to do there. I right clicked on my desktop, new file, then extracted the files there.. this is what I got when I typed cd \syslinux\win32 in a command prompt:

Re: Getting Damn Small Linux to boot from a flash drive
Here is what I would recommend. I would make sure that syslinux is a directory on you computer. If it is then make sure that you can "cd" to it. If you can then make sure that win32 is directory or file.
If syslinux isn't a directory then make a directory, and put win32 into it too. Cheers!

Re: Getting Damn Small Linux to boot from a flash drive
How do you make it a directory? Am I supposed to create a new folder, or is this already in existence? And what do you mean by "CD to it"? Thanks.

Re: Getting Damn Small Linux to boot from a flash drive
cd is a command that changes which folder command prompt is looking in. if you type cd then a folder path, command prompt will look in there
