Uploading songs to iPOD using Linux
Hi guys. I just got an ipod and I want to upload songs to it. I have Linux and use the music program Lsongs. I can't figure out how to upload the songs using it and I know it can because 2 years ago I had an ipod and used the program just fine, but unfortunately forgot how to do this now. If anyone knows anything about this please write back. Thanks.

Re: Uploading songs to iPOD using Linux
It's my understanding that the new iPods can't be "hook-up" to Linux distos. Maybe others know different.

Re: Uploading songs to iPOD using Linux
I used to use gtkpod with a 4th generation (monochrome screen, not the photo). Haven't tried it with my newer iPod (5th gen) since it's still under warranty and I have a Mac.
Amarok is a fairly nice music player for Linux that's supposed to work with iPods, but either way your warranty would most likely be void by using the iPod with Linux. Also, you might run into problems if they really are engineered to not work with third-party apps.

YES I realize this is an old thread - but I was searching around Google for this information and this thread came up.
I'd like to add that Banshee has iPod support: http://banshee-project.org/ (I'm not sure to what degree - just started using it!)
