Installation steps for Ubuntu
hi all,
Every time i tried to install ubuntu on my machine running windows vista .....i shows cannot mount and detect cd-rom. can anybody help me to figure it out.Please provide with the steps to install it. Thanks |

OK, here is what you need to do to load your ubuntu cd. You need to load into the bootloader. To do this you will have to either hit esc, or one of the "F" keys. This will bring up a menu that will allow you to choose the drive you but the cd or dvd into. Then the Ubuntu cd will load up. There might be a bunch of things that come up that don' make any sense but just let it go through its loading process. W
When Ubuntu starts you will be given an list of options, there will be an option to start the livecd, start the installer, or start the installer without a gui. I would choose to start the livecd, and look around for a little while before you install it.
