access problem
i have 4 systems on a lan.On all the 4 machines RHEL is installed.
problem is that from one system i am able to access(connect) all others systems, but i can not access(error message: permission denied,please try again) this system from any other system althogh the former system do get pinged by other systems. plz suggest some causes and solutions. |

Make sure all your firewalls are off. "/etc/init.d/iptables stop" from a command window.
What are you using to connect, ssh or telnet? If you are using ssh, make sure that the sshd daemon is running on each. Make sure that you have added yourself as a user with a valid password. (Life will be simpler if you add yourself to all 4 machines with the same User name and user number and the same group id. When you get around to adding NFS, file permissions will be much simpler and you will be able to change files from any of the 4 machines). |
