Partition software help.
Hi,
This is a duplicate of the thread I just posted in 2003 server but I guess that Linux guys would not look in there. I have used partition software when installing Linux on my machines but I have not used it on a 2003 server X64. Apologies for double post. I have a Dell server it has two SCSI disks running in a RAID 1. It is currently partitioned with 15GB as a system (C:) drive and the remainder as a D drive, both NTFS partitions. It is running Windows Server 2003 Standard X64. I need to resize these partitions, non-destructively. I used the ****** partition software - fine with D drive but not with C drive: I have found out it does not cater for X64. Does gparted work OK with RAID 1 controller? Any additional tips such as deactivate RAID, repartition one drive, and turn it back on - appreciated. Any body successfully done this? |

Re: Partition software help.
I cannot help you with RAID. I have used GParted for resizing without troubles.
Maybe this link can help you get your questions answered: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/index.php

Re: Partition software help.
MotorCityMadMan - thanks for response. I decided to rebuild - too much time lost already.
I'm curious (newbie on this forum) name of software was asterisked out but open source is allowed. Curious policy - has pros and cons! Anyway it didn't help, I think neat enough software others maybe for £50, but I'm looking for a refund. Thanks again. |
