audio & video problem

Hye all
Iam having desktop thats having windows XP & Redhat linux 5 server. In windows audio & video are working aboustly fine .But in linux sound is not coming & even screen resolution is not perfect

Audio drivers
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)

Video
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82946GZ/GL Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)

Does anyone has solution

answermeplz,

What brand/version of Linux are you using?

I've found that the ALSA drivers are the best audio drivers for Linux. As far as your video hardware goes, have you tried manipulating the Display settings in the GUI that you're using?

iam using redhat linux server 5 .( 2.6.18-8.el5xen).Problem what iam facing with the sound is when i start my system sound will come,when i increase or decrease the volume ,sound dissapears. My system is having inbuilt speakers it well support to that only ,not headphone .

Go the the ALSA site here for instructions on installing the ALSA sound drivers for Linux.

If the alsoconf doesn't work, try configuring from scratch at using instructions found at:
