Hi
I want to install linux on my pc. I was running win98 befor. I am looking for a linux os that wokes the best with the hardwere that I have now. i cant tell u alot about my computer but I do know that it has a 7gb harddrive, 400mhz pentiumIII prossesser with 128mb of ram. can any one plz help me out? plz. if so that would be grateley apprisheated. |

Does your machine have a CD or DVD reader? All the newest Linux kernels need a CD or DVD to boot from. Also check you bios to see if you can boot from a CD or DVD. If your computer is older than about 2000 then you will have to find a Linux version that will boot from a floppy. The newest kernels need a CD or DVD to boot from, a floppy doesn't have enough storage to boot a new kernel. Your Linux version 1.0.13 which is really, really old.
