Problem In fedora 7

I have installed fedora 7 on my pc having 512 RAM 80 Gb harddisk and dual core processor.when pc restarts after installing the fedora, i have selected fedora as first operating system.but it hangs on the screen which is asking about ur user name and password.. but can i do? is there any hardware problem or their is problem in my fedora disk. i m using the fedora 7 which is come with the magazine DIGIT few months ago..

try logging in as root, and you should have given root a password during the install.

If that won't work your next best plan would be to download Fedora8 and burn it to a CD, then reinstall
