Konsoles respawning too fast, please help me keep from getting killed again!
Upon installing SuSE Linux 9.1 on my desktop, it boots most of the way, and then it errors out. Here's what I'm getting:
INIT: Entering runlevel 5*****. INIT: Id "1" respawning too fast: disabling for 5 minutes INIT: Id "2" respawning too fast: disabling for 5 minutes INIT: Id "3" respawning too fast: disabling for 5 minutes INIT: Id "4" respawning too fast: disabling for 5 minutes INIT: Id "5" respawning too fast: disabling for 5 minutes INIT: Id "6" respawning too fast: disabling for 5 minutes INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel Five minutes later, I get the six Id errors again. Because of this, I cannot access a terminal. Using Knoppix, I can view anything on the Linux partition I want, but I see nothing out of the ordinary from my working laptop that was installed from the same CD and on the same hardware. Any ideas as to what this is and how to fix it?

Sounds like something is wrong with your X setup, probably X has not set up your video card correctly. You should be able to get another terminal with Control+Alt+F(1-6). The Suse X configuration tool is SaX2, try running that from a console prompt

The terminals are what's doing the respawning, so I cannot access anything.
