[SOLVED] remove GRUB from HDD, not dual booted
Hi all. I had problems with installing XP on a new 80GB HDD in an old laptop, so installed Ubuntu to check the function of the drive. Seems to have been a BIOS problem that didn't allow the XP install on the drive. Have installed latest BIOS with another smaller HDD.
Placed the 80GB back in the laptop, but now get a GRUB error 17. I would like to know how to completely remove GRUB from the HDD, bearing in mind that I do not have another OS installed on it, so cannot use XP to fix it. Thanks |

Re: [SOLVED] remove GRUB from HDD, not dual booted
Fixed it, downloaded HD Hacker and copied the MBR from an existing XP install to the new HDD, then installed XP no worries
