The "finger <hostname>" command used to dump uptime for remote hosts. But finger is a security hole, so I don't even know if it still distributed. The finger daemon is probably turned off by default now.
I just tired it. Finger works on the local host "finger -l". But the finger daemon wouldn't work across the network. "finger -l" tells just about everything about a computer including home directories...... |
