Sendmail (newbie) in Linux needs Help
Hi,
I am new to linux as well as sendmail. I am try to complete a asterisk voicemail to email task. It invokes the sendmail function. Now I need a quick help to show me where is the problem. Asterisk side has been take care of. Actually, this task is partially working. Sendmail can send email successfully to my hotmail account as well as gmail account. Here is the log I pulled from /var/log/mail.log --------------------------------- Jan 9 19:05:28 KBTMedia sendmail[13204]: m0A25SxU013204: from=root, size=113189, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<Asterisk-32-1158022897-7804011763-6292@kbtmedia.kbtsystems.com>, relay=root@localhost Jan 9 19:05:29 KBTMedia sm-mta[13209]: m0A25TFU013209: from=<root@kbtmedia.kbtsystems.com>, size=113314, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<Asterisk-32-1158022897-7804011763-6292@kbtmedia.kbtsystems.com>, proto=ESMTP, daemon=MTA, relay=localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1] Jan 9 19:05:29 KBTMedia sendmail[13204]: m0A25SxU013204: to="Stan" <stanshi@hotmail.com>, ctladdr=root (0/0), delay=00:00:01, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=143189, relay=[127.0.0.1] [127.0.0.1], dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent (m0A25TFU013209 Message accepted for delivery) Jan 9 19:05:32 KBTMedia sm-mta[13212]: m0A25TFU013209: to=<stanshi@hotmail.com>, ctladdr=<root@kbtmedia.kbtsystems.com> (0/0), delay=00:00:03, xdelay=00:00:03, mailer=esmtp, pri=233314, relay=mx2.hotmail.com. [65.54.244.168], dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent ( <Asterisk-32-1158022897-7804011763-6292@kbtmedia.kbtsystems.com> Queued mail for delivery) ------------------------------- However, I can't use sendmail to send email to other domain account such as our own account stanshi@kbtsystems.com or stanshi@uniserve.com etc. The log I pulled shows below: ------------------------------- Jan 9 20:35:00 KBTMedia sendmail[16537]: m0A3Z0E3016537: from=root, size=281478, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<Asterisk-61-469964610-6047377502-6292@kbtmedia.kbtsystems.com>, relay=root@localhost Jan 9 20:35:00 KBTMedia sm-mta[16544]: m0A3Z0M1016544: <stanshi@kbtsystems.com>... User unknown Jan 9 20:35:00 KBTMedia sendmail[16537]: m0A3Z0E3016537: to="Stan" <stanshi@kbtsystems.com>, ctladdr=root (0/0), delay=00:00:00, xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=311478, relay=[127.0.0.1] [127.0.0.1], dsn=5.1.1, stat=User unknown Jan 9 20:35:00 KBTMedia sm-mta[16544]: m0A3Z0M1016544: from=<root@kbtmedia.kbtsystems.com>, size=281478, class=0, nrcpts=0, proto=ESMTP, daemon=MTA, relay=localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1] Jan 9 20:35:00 KBTMedia sendmail[16537]: m0A3Z0E3016537: m0A3Z0E4016537: DSN: User unknown Jan 9 20:35:01 KBTMedia sm-mta[16544]: m0A3Z0M3016544: from=<>, size=283395, class=0, nrcpts=1, msgid=<200801100335.m0A3Z0E4016537@kbtmedia.kbtsystems.com>, proto=ESMTP, daemon=MTA, relay=localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1] ------------------------------------------ The only differences I found is the DSN in first one is 2.0.0, and in second one is 5.1.1. and second one give me User Unknown messages. I search for solution on internet for about 2 days. try lots of different methods. no luck. Hopefully, I can get something useful here. BTW, I am newbie, so if you need to ask me questions, better just ask like what's your /etc/host file or show me your sendmail.cf file. Thanks a lot ~~! Online wating ~!
