Wireless LAN

When I start Windows XP the systems immediately detects the Safecom wirless router and I can start Internet Explorer to view webpages or send/receive email.

I have a live boot CD of Knoppix. When it starts there is no sign that it has detected my wireless router. What do I need to do?

Re: Wireless LAN

What make/model wireless card do you have and what make/model PC/laptop do you have?

Re: Wireless LAN

I have Acer laptop. I had previously tried Knoppix on my desktop PC but today tried on the lapton. The wireless connection was recognised. I entered my encryption key. Still Firefox would not download any webpages as I kept getting server error message,

I will check on other details.

Thanks

Re: Wireless LAN

Download and install madwifi, if indeed, you have an Atheros chipset.

Cheers
