Maxtor Shared Network Drive Not Accessable

Windows XP PRo, Maxtor SHared Network Drive 200 Gb. Power Issues wiped out Protector and caused multiple brown and black outs in a few minutes. The drive ocassionally has shown up with the folder listing and accesable by IP address on the Maxtor Quick Start, and in the Folder listing, but can not copy the files and the folders disappear. I understand this is a Linux based system running and need to get the data from the Public folder on the drive a minimum. Have multipe computers and one running linux in the office, but am not familiar with Linux at all.

It uses a ReiserFS File system that I can not see when I mount the drive into the computer so I started SpinRite 6.0 on the drive 15 hours ago and it shows it will take a week to recover the data. Any ideas that could be quicker?
