Cannot Create Executables?

Finally getting away from Windows... I'm running PCLinuxOS and trying my hand at installing and running some programs.

In this case, I'm in the console and trying to install a game. When I type ./configure (like it says in the readme) I get the following output:

...and can't get any farther than this. Any help? I've tried using root access and get the same error.

Resolved:

anyone else with this problem (it seems to be a rather common one), open Synaptic and search for & install the package called "gcc-c++"

retry ./configure and go from there
