Re: Removeing Grub & fedora core 7
yeah, just about anyone who uses fedora as their first linux distro would be pretty discouraged. i think you should give linux another chance, this time use ubuntu, but even if you don't, here's how to remove fedora:
first, if you were able to get fedora on cd, i am assuming that you can burn parted magic to cd, so do that, boot to it, and delete all the partitions. here's how to remove grub: 1. boot up to your fedora livecd 2. download mbrwizard for linux (i think it's www.mbr.bigr.net) to your desktop 3. unpack the file straight to the desktop so you now have 2 morw files on the desktop. 4. open up the terminal the next few steps may look hard, but they are fairly easy 5. type this: cd Desktop alright, now type: chmod a+x mbrwiz now to run it, type: ./mbrwiz to remove grub: ./mbrwiz -disk=0 -wipe=0 to make sure it was removed, do: ./mbrwiz -list |

Re: Removeing Grub & fedora core 7
Simpler way:
Insert your Windows XP Media Center disk in the computer and reboot, booting to the disk. Instead of starting the installer, press R to enter the Recovery Console. In the Recovery Console, type: Code:
fixmbr Download GParted LiveCD from my signature, burn it to a CD and boot from the CD. You can delete your Linux partition, set up your new partition(s) and format it. (Format it to NTFS, for Windows).

Re: Removeing Grub & fedora core 7
Hi All,
There's also fdisk mbr which will wipe the mbr and install a basic mbr setup for windows, and using fdisk the user can format the drive and set it up for ntfs. fdisk setup of a hard drive is relatively simple.
