How can I remove the Linux partition?

Hello guys,
I currently have my computer dual-booting with Win XP and Ubuntu Feisty installed on two separate partitions.
Recently I've been doing a lot of video editing in Windows side and been running out of space too.
So I decided to get rid of the Ubuntu partition altogether and add those space to my Windows partition.
I fired up Norton Partition Magic 8 and what I did was I deleted the 2 Linux partition (the primary one and the swap) and redistribute those space to my Windows partition. But when I tried to apply the changes, NPM8 gives me an error dialog about 'cannot lock a locked drive' or something, and it halted everything.
I thought it didn't affect anything, but I was wrong. As soon as I restarted the computer, this error came up:

Quote:
GRUB Loading stage1.5.

GRUB loading, please wait...
Error 22
Evidently NPM8 had touched something it shouldn't in GRUB. I know it didn't do anything fatal to either partition, but right now I can't get past this stage. How do I get Windows to boot up again, and I'd also like to know if there is a proper way to get rid of the Linux partition without causing any trouble.

Thanks for any help.

Re: How can I remove the Linux partition?

You need to delete GRUB. Use your XP CD, pop it in the drive and at the first screen where it asks you what you want to do, press "R" and that will take you to the Recovery Console. Run the command:
Code:
fixmbr
and you're done.

It worked, thanks alot. And even the operations in Partition Magic were done without any problem.
