Fedora Boot Problem
Hi,
I am a complete beginner at Linux but want to try it as an alternative OS to Windows. I just installed Fedora, the install went very well. However when I boot the system I get: "Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!" Could anyone offer any help? sowlerrmgh |

Re: Fedora Boot Problem
What was the messages before that?
Edit: From a quick google, my guess would be that you have installed Fedora 3. One method that worked for someone else: Change your optical drive & hard drive to different IDE cables. Last edited by PureEvilDan; 05-12-2007 at 03:17 PM. |

Re: Fedora Boot Problem
At the startup grub menu, “press any key” and then enter “e”.
Move down to the kernel command line and enter “e”. At the right end of the kernel line, enter a space plus the text “selinux=0” without the quotes, followed by [Enter] and then “b”. The system will boot with selinux disabled and you can then use the menu security tool to disable selinux permanently. |
