will photoshop cs run natively on any distro? and is it possible yet to run the zune software with any emulators? you cannot use windows media player of any kind to sync, and i do not know if it is possible to even run wmp on linux. i would like a free software that i can use at least these two for the time being. i plan on getting some version of xp soon.

Re: deestroe

You can get PC Linux 2007 TR4 .Or Mepis 6.5.Or Mint Bianca and do just about anything you would do on Windows.WMP for example. There is a player that does it.Pluss you can get Real Player.Kafine and other programs all free by downloading on the desktop .Because all the versions have a package manager that has all the extra programs for free. There are several choices for photo working too.So .If you get a free Linux on the hard drive then you can get the free programs.

Pribar -
The more specific your needs regarding Windows-specific devices and/or software, the less likely you will find a seamless solution in Linux. If you are flexible in how you do things or are willing to start over again then success is possible.

But I see several stumbling blocks in that last post of yours...

Simple answer, no. Photoshop runs on Win32 & Mac.

It can be run on Linux, with a little work and effort...
Gentoo tutorial (It should work in any system):

I'm confused by your last bit...
You can't run wmp on Linux, again its a windows program, but there alot of good alternatives to wmp.
I'm going to give you a different Gentoo wiki link, with some examples of Linux programs, that can replace WMP. ...right here

Zune is umm the MS "iPod killer" it won't sync / be able to run in Linux. There is a Zune Linux project, but its not advanced at the moment.
