I programmed my NIC on my computer, it reported it was live, And it reports Restart the network, etc, or restart, I restarted Multiple times , when I launch Mozilla, it brings up the standard page but I can type anything in the browser window, and an error comes up stating it could not locate the site, and it does this very quickly.
I am lost , not sure how to get this software on the internet, what so ever.. Please help. Duddie:

Re: Unable to get my Fedora Core 2 on the internet
I forgot. But if you could download an ISO and burn it you could use live CDs to practice with Linux.PC Linux 2007 is a good one.I could get you going on a live CD and you can get an idea of how to get around. I got rid of my DC disk. That is a fairly easy Linux to run. But try the FC forum if nobody comes soon.

Re: Unable to get my Fedora Core 2 on the internet
I hear ya,, I installed another NIC, and this is what is showed for IP 192.168.1.1, and continues to show, Failed ping, I look down at my NIC and it has one solid Green light, with a blinking orange.. I don't understand how it can keep on saying, failed ping.. Man this is frustrating,,

Re: Unable to get my Fedora Core 2 on the internet
I understand your fustration.I went through it as did everyone else. As I have no Fedori Core I do not know what to tell you on that. One will come by that does know FC well enough.I know some who are good on Windows who start on Linux.Instead of going simple at first they go for the complex loads.Suse Linux for example. They get confused and quit. All the time I say start simple then go upward. Then they say Linux is no good. The truth is they bit off more than they could chew.PC Linux 2007 is easy.I use a lot of versions but I like simplicity.I got FC going on two PCs.(Not laptops) But I forget what to do to get that card going.I hope it is a card that FC is pre set for. Geeking in drivers is no fun.If you has Mepis 6.5 or PC Linux 2007 for a live CD trial you could easly get online or know why not.Run to the FC forum ( Google) or go to >> http://distrowatch.com/ Look right for Fedrora Core.Click it ,Go find the forum.Enter you card in SEARCH and see what info comes.

Well, I will not get that frustrated to give up, I am a Tech, and work my way through hard things like FC Core 2, I have many Nic cards from years of collecting, and I found information on a FC 2, where certaint Nic cards have issues, I dug up an older card, and guess what, It worked in fact, I am using FC2 right now typing this message, so Now it is working, I still need to get my wireless card or get info on another one, to get his system on Wireless, I have a wire running on the floor, My wife is not to fond of that idea. But i needed to get his software updated. One other issue I have is I have Zero Sound on this software, I go to the find sound card option, and it reports, Noi sound card found, hwen in fact, there is a sound card. But for some reason, it does not find it.. Go Figure..
Duddie,, Finally smilin, and a Happy Linux users, who will Never give up. By the way, Is Red Hat 7.2 Older or newer than FC 2? I am not one to know what is an early version or advanced, I am currently downloading FC5 on another PC in my office. I am thinking of updating this version.. I know I hit you with multiple things, Sorry about that.. I am just so Excited about Linux, I am able to use the aim chat and all, it is pretty cool.
