Complete Linux newbie here so be gentle.
Every time I boot into MEPIS, KlamAV pops up to tell me that I am using an old version and offers to update it. I click on update, it downloads the new files but doesn't install them. I don't get an error message of any kind or anything. ClamAV updates fine (from within the program) and the whole thing updates its virus definitions without problem. KlamAV offers to update, downloads but then does nothing else. No updates are offered via Synaptic. The version I already have is listed. ClamAV wouldn't update until I had downloaded something called zlib.dev using Synaptic. Do I need some other files before KlamAV will update? P.S. While I realise that viruses aren't really a problem on Linux, the popup message is becoming rather annoying. |
