Oracle Connection from Linux PC

Hi,

Please help! I have a Linux PC running Fedora Core 4. It has a reporting tool in a web interface written in PHP. This tool calls data from our back office system which runs on an Oracle database.

The problem is my colleague who created the web interface is no longer with the company, and has taken his knowledge with him! Previously, this PC and the DB server were on the same LAN. We have now moved the DB to another server, in a hosting environment. This is on a separate LAN altogether. I need to get the web site to read from this new location.

Is it not just a matter of changing an IP address somewhere, so the website knows were to look for the data?

My Linux and PHP knowledge is extremely limited (I know more about women!), so all assistance will be appreciated.

Thanks

My System

You'll need to change the IP address and make sure that the username, database name and password are the same. You may also need to make sure that the proper port on the new server is not blocked by that server.

Thanks, but where would I do that?
Is there something like a Data Source Administrator application or utility where one creates and edits Database connections?
