YaSt doesnt open

When I try to open an rpm file using YaSt nothing happens.If I try right clicking on it and try to open it the software installer just reads "getting istall list" and again nothing happens

Please someone tell me what is going on

Try doing this through the command line. Open a terminal window, type "su" and enter your root password. Then type: "rpm -i <filename goes here>".

Hi

I tried using the command line but it comes back saying the file or directory doesnt exist.

Is it possible that something is missing with the Suse install?

You're probably not in the same directory as the RPM file. Or you're mis-spelling the filename. Keep in mind that the filenames are case sensitive. You'll either have to use "cd" to change into the exact directory where the file is located, or you can use the full path for the file (i.e. "rpm -i /home/jontopia/myfile.rpm").
