OK, it doesn't work, so how do I remove it?

Hello,
I tried installing Ubuntu, installed GRUB, which works, but Ubuntu doesn't work on my Laptop: Ubuntu, loads then goes to blank screen! BAHHH!!!!! .
So now I have a dual boot, with Windows XP, and Linux, which the linux doesn't work. How do I go abouts removing Linux and the GRUB? I did something really stupid before, deleted the partition for it, and so the GRUB tried loading, and just got a error, and wasn't able to boot anything, so I had to re-install a non-working OS, and the GRUB. So how do I remove it?

Pop in your XP CD and boot to the Recovery Console. Type in fixmbr
If you do the above before removing the Linux partition, just go and delete the partition. Or delete the Linux partition, then do the above.

Would I have to use 'Disk 1', which is the bootable one?

Umm, I imagine so. Is it like a recovery CD set then? My XP cd is only one disk, and that's the one I'd use. But you'll have to use the bootable one.
