I am facing a big problem. I just installed Mandrake Linux 9.1 on my computer. Whenever I add a user other than root, the graphical menu for sign in only shows a single user as a selection choice. This way, an icon with the username is shown and you click it and then enter password to sign in (like Windows XP). When root is the only user, then it provides a different signin where you yourself enter the username and password. I want to use the menu where the names are already added to menu, you click them and then enter password, but I want to add the root account to the list as well. How can I do that? I want to use root to learn how to configure the computer and do other such stuff.

ok, somewhere in the config menu is a way to change user settings.

i think it is the login manager, i will go check.

you will want to make sure the other users arent set to "hidden"

Open up the KDE Control Center, then go to System Administration, then Login Manager as said above. Under the users tab is where you'll need to go to make the changes.
