Title: My Redhat Linux 7.2 server hangs during the boot process.
My Redhat Linux 7.2 server hangs during the boot process what could be the possible problems with this server and what can I do to fix this problem. I do not have a boot floppy for this server. I have tried logging in as a single userand still get the same problem. I have tried using Linux rescue but I'm not sure what to start adding or removing to get my server back up and running. Thanks.
Also I have tried making boot floppies while on this server through Linux rescue. Thanks. |

Hi, and welcome to TSF. I have not had a server machine myself. But a system is a system. And having said that, do you get any error messages during boot? Is there a monitor and keyboard connected to this machine, or you triyng access it remotely? Has any hardware changed? What about your hardware compliment, is there a RAID in the machine? Can you access the logfiles? i.e. file:/var/log/boot.log You may be able to see what the error is in the logs.
