Hello I will be going to my friends house in two days and he has a cable modem I have a network card for my computer and a cat5 cable to go to his modem but when i tried to surf the net after I connected the cable and network card to his computer and mine I still couldn't do it and what I am thinking is that I need to first have the driver for his modem that he has installed on my computer and set up a tcp/ip connection or whatever it is called and I will tell you what he has for a modem model it is a toshiba pcx1100u and if you could tell me in terms that I can understand that would be greatly appreciated how to get my laptop with win98se to work side by side with my friends computer so that we can both use the same modem at one time that is all thanks for your time
