Recovering some lost files from hard drive

So, today my computer was tweaking out and I decided to do a full system recovery. I wasnt sure if it would delete all my files and I didnt really care. When everything was up and running the computer showed I had 25 GB left on my hard drive (roughly how much I had before the system recovery) leading me to believe that all my stuff WASNT deleted. Problem is now I cant find any of my old files even after doing searches and going through my hard drive.

I even ran the WinDirStat to make sure I was getting the correct amount of space left. It too showed that I had 25 GB left in my HD (out of 224 GB). The problem is when the total stored in the Hard drive only amounted to ~83 GB, leaving arounf 100GB missing (which I'm guessing includes my collection of movies and music which I stored in seperate files on my desk top which I can no longer find ANYWHERE on my computer!)

Please help me find this! I mean how hard can it be to find 100 GB of files!

I'm currently running on Windows XP btw.
