D Drive Problem
My HDD was partitioned in half, so I have a C: and a D:.
Well, something screwed up my D: drive. It erased everything in my Programs Folder on my D: drive, and when I tried to delete the folder it said it wouldn't. It was drastically slowing down my laptop (an Acer laptop), so I tried formatting, which wouldn't work. (tried formatting the D: drive). So I hit Alt+F10, which on an Acer loads up the eDataRecovery system and allows you to return your C: drive to factory condition (it formats the C: drive and reinstalls the drivers and Windows XP OS onto it). Well, I did that, and loaded up my computer, and decided to delete everything in D: drive. I was deleting stuff, but it still wouldn't allow me to delete my Programs Folder and said that there was a file there even though it was empty.
So, I installed ERASER program, which deletes folders and files that won't delete normally. Well, that requires a restart. Ever since I told my comp. to restart, it won't. I ran the Acer format program again, and it formatted, but when it restarted, my computer won't load up anymore. At first it was taking me to the screen where you choose to load in Safe Mode, Safe Mode w/ Networking, Normally, etc. but it would take forever, then give me an error and restart. Now, it takes me to a screen that says:
Disc Error
Press any key to restart
When I push a button, the text disappears, but 10-15 seconds it reappears. I know the problem is with the D: partition, any ideas with how to fix it?
