yes / the bios selects which drive to boot from, regardless of jumpoer settings


sata drives dont have jumper settings >>>>> they are the only device on their own dedicated channel


IDE channels can be shared with two devices, thats why they need jumpers to designate priority

but a slave can be made to boot first with bios settings


and I seconds Tumble's advice >>>>> I wouldnt run too many miles worth of effort to boot from the 16mb cache drive -VS- the 8mb cache drive >>>>> if you "see" a diff it will be very slight
