[SOLVED] Possible bad HDD, Options?

My pc has been freezing once in a while and I think its a hardware problem w/ my HDD. I have dusted, cleaned out everything, constantly run my ad-aware, avast anti-virus. I just D/L a trial copy of System Mechanic 7 and cleaned my registry. SM7 indicated 2 errors in my HDD which makes me think my HDD might be going bad.
I am going to replace/ upgrade my HDD. I have a Soyo P4X400 mobo. Could use a SATA-IDE/PATA adapter or a PCI IDE card and run a SATAII 3.0 HDD. I would like to upgrade my HDD since I am going to replace it.
Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.
