Re: HP ZV5000 - Yep its the power jack

dangerous? hardly so, all that's happening is instead of having the power being fed by a battery it's being fed by the wall outlet (with a ac to dc convertor of course). The problem is I don't want to fry the circuit board with running an improper voltage / amperage through the battery terminal and I Don't want to mix up the different pins.
Thanks for your caution though -- Before I'd lay down $150 to fix a friggin' HP I'd lay down in a grave. HP sucks aha I've read so many people with the same problem...if I can't find a decent pin diagram I'm going to have to buy a new laptop its not really worth putting $150 into because something else is likely to crap out a week later...
but anyways thanks for your words of caution cause they were some pretty rough battery recalls that happened...I was aware of em though it was something to do with the actual cells in the batteries themselves -- not the terminals (which is why there was a lot of batterys replaces not motherboards/power supplies)

if I was to get the power adaptor plug is there extra screws I could buy cause the previous owner took it apart and lost some and now I don't know what ones go where any diagrams ppl have or pics? Also I don't know how to fully disassemble the laptop I got close but there was still stuff needing to come apart that I could figure out
