How do you know it's Vista when the OP didn't state that and rather states XP in his profile?
vtech: Which Memtest did you run that gave you a BSOD? Memtest will not give you a BSOD, since it doesn't run inside windows, Windows gives you a BSOD when it encounters errors after its loaded up.
Please list your system specs following this:
stickies
For RAM, run these diagnostics:
Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool and
Memtest86+. (2 hours each is OK)
Run each with one stick of RAM in a each slot, to test the RAM and the slots. let us know the results.
