HP ZV5000 - Yep its the power jack

Okay so I'm not so confident with taking this machine apart again Cause I lost some screws last time and I put one screw that is too long in one place and its popping up through the keyboard area with is kinda funny but it still tunes on (as long as the battery has power). So my battery won't charge and it doesn't recognize that its been plugged in (likely due to a broken jack b/c it used to work when I'd wiggle it around). So I have a new idea. I have an older battery that doesn't hold a charge. I was wondering if anyone knows what the different pins are for on the battery. I think I might rip the shell of the old one apart (any idea how to do that without ruining the shell's form?) and then run a power adapter through the battery shell. However, I don't know what the pins are and what the exact voltage I'll need.
Anyone help? Has anyone done this before??
