Re: Languages

Kalim,
Here is a cherokee song sung on the trail of tears. It is from a cd by a cherokee elder (I can't remember his name off hand). On the cd he tells/sings traditional stories and songs of the eastern cherokee people. Let me know if you want more. I will have to listen to the cd and transcribe them. This is phonetic, so the way it is spelled is close to the way it is pronounced.

Sqa ti ne say
sti ye ho wa
el li ti ga
ee so ne
tsi wah nah ga
ti you ha gi
ga thli ni gi
ti ne he
ski sta li ski ski sta li ski
ni go hey lv
wa ti ta

Loose translation (words split to keep time):
Guide me
thou(you) great Jehovah
pilgrim in
in a barren land
I am weak
you are mighty
guide me with
your powerful hand
bread of heaven bread of heaven
feed me till
I want no more
