Is it possible that my CPU still functions after reaching temperatures of 110C? Last night I ran a virus scan until my computer powered off, monitoring the temperature...and right around when it got to 110C it shut off. Do you agree that 110C is way too high to be an accurate temperature reading? Is it possible that a virus could affect the temperature readout and not the temperature itself?

I will try to do a Windows repair installation, a reformat, and if those things don't fix it I will go ahead and get a new heat sink and/or fan.
