FYI, the default base address for Netgear routers is 192.168.0.1, not 192.168.1.1, which is the Linksys default.

Did you turn off the Westell modem to connect the new router?

If you can still connect with the old router, please go to the router's web based setup pages and post a screen shot of the WAN connection status, including the assigned IP address.
