My melancholy tone is because I've lost this particular girl before (even let her go, which was hard to do), but she's not the only one I've lost. Since she and I have been down this road once already, this is sort of my second chance. I'm trying real hard to not make the same mistakes I made last time. Instead, I'm making all new mistakes! I'm really hoping the quote, "If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, its yours forever; if it doesn't, then it was never meant to be." is the truth. She knows how I feel since I'm horrible at hiding things like this. I figure she'll either tell me she feels the same way (if/when she's ready) or she'll tell me to back off. I just have to be patient and make sure I'm not so passive she slips away.
