Childrens games running from internal HDD

This is such a minor problem, I am embarrassed to post it here. My daughter (age 4) has a passed down e-machine to play her games on. Until now most of her games have been downloaded or run from online sites, like Disney. However as she has gotten better at them I purchased a few for her, the problem is that the games (all of them) require the cd to be in the drive in order for her to play them. This is a problem for a 4 year old. They will be lost or destroyed in about a week, or every time she wants to switch between games I will need to do it for her (about every 2 minutes). The other issue is she might be too rough with the dvd drive on the computer. I called one of the manufactures (Jump Start) and was advised that this is the only way to run the game. I find that very hard to believe. In short is there a way to run these games without the cd being in the drive? Can I backup the software up to the HDD and run the game from there? She really enjoys them but they will be history in a week and both of us will be peeved. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
