Re: Running Ide Hdd As Sata Hdd!

thanks for the rapid response chevy!
I have scrambled eggs where my brain should be because I omitted to mention in my original post that I already bought 2 of these IDE-to-SATA adaptors! (not from the store you mentioned)
they came with what I presume to be some kind of SATA cable because they plug into the SATA connectors on the mobo!
thats where my problems begin!
when I boot up I get a message which I cant work out how to proceed from, its about setting up raid or array or something
I dont want to go messing with things I dont understand so I dont do anything at all, I mean if I connect what is now my C drive (and contains the op-sys) to a SATA connection and also reconfigure the raid or whatever will windows boot?
I should mention that I bought all the components for my current PC seperately and put them all together myself, a few teething troubles but no real problem at all, SATA on the other hand scares me to death!
I have probably put myself off actually doing anything, which is why I have asked for step-by-step help if anyone can provide it (or a link to a plain english tutorial WITH PICS!)
thanks again
