If you can't get a screen shot, just right click in the right window of the everest summary, select "copy all". Come back to the thread, put your mouse pointer in the reply box, rite click - select paste. It's just a copy and paste operation that way or copy and paste into paint and upload it that way without going through the print screen process
You might start your investigation with pressing F2 when you start your lap to enter cmos setup to see if the drive is there and if it's enabled. If it is, if you have a bootable cd, try to boot to it to determine if its a hardware issue or a windows issue.
start>rite click my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager>expand ide controller>rite click on primary ide channel>properties>advanced settings> check to see if automatic detection is enabled. You will be able to recognize the rom drive- it's dma setting will be/should be dma2
