Noise in the lines!??!?!
I am soooo pissed at AT&T Broadband I could tear their necks in two!! I am wondering if anyone could give me any insight and was also wondering if anyone else has gone through this!
I transferred my cable internet service when I moved on the 13th. It was connected on the 14th and I had access for a few hours and from there on out, it was on and off (mostly OFF). A tech came out on that Weds and told me there was noise in the lines and that they were working on it...it was an area problem. After he left, I even lost the on and off connection so I called AT&T back. They, of course, did not show any work being done in the area so they scheduled someone to come back out the next day. The same guy came back out and told me that nowwwww.....he was getting low send and receive signals from my home and he put in a line call. On top of that, there was still noise in the lines in the area. He told me they had that noise problem for at least the past 60 days and just don't know when it will be totally fixed.
Today, suddenly I have access, but who knows for how long. I ditched Ameritech DSL because of a HUGE problem I had with them in the past. I did call around to other DSL providers but I was told I would have to drop like $200 for the modem and then another $150 for the wiring if it was needed in the room where my PC is.
What do I do?? I am at a TOTAL loss. I do not use a telephone line because I really REALLY have a huge problem with Ameritech (I use my Nextel for everything now). HELP!!! I feel stuck!
