Re: Office 2007 news & tools

New Retail Consumer Support Options To Launch for with 2007 Microsoft Office system:

Up until Office 2003 (included), consumers who bought and installed Office retail products, were entitled to call Microsoft at no charge for technical help with their product installation and for two additional support inquiries. Since Jan 30th, 2007 this has changed for the 2007 Office Suite.

Now customers can contact Microsoft as often as they need for their Office 2007 issues, but this is at no charge only within a 90-day timeframe. While for Vista this 90-day period starts counting from the moment of product activation, for Office 2007 Microsoft states that: "For the 2007 Microsoft Office system, the 90 days will be based upon the first time that the customer contacts Microsoft support."

Aforementioned policy is for FPP (Full-Packaged, i.e. "Retail") Products only. Customers who bought a preinstalled Microsoft product from a computer manufacturer (i.e. the OEM Office 2007 version), will receive technical support from that manufacturer.
