yeah the old motherboard drivers are still embedded in the operating system on the hard drive from the other motherboard
you will need to persue a repair install of vista
worse case you "may" have to wipe the hard drive clean and reinstall vista
but I "think" MS is going to balk, generally a new motherboard is considered a new system = new copy of vista
anyway you may have to perform a clean install then call MS for activation, at that time they will give you a one time blessing from what I am hearing ?????
if you have data on that drive that you cant stand to lose
then I suggest you buy another hard drive, clean install windows on that drive, then you will be able to access your old drive, recover your files, then wipe (erase) that drive and live happily ever after >>>>>>>> I like that part
